Woman embracing a new beginning surrounded by flowers — spiritual courage and fresh start

There is a story we are sometimes told about new beginnings — that they are exciting, bright, and full of ease. That when we are truly ready to start fresh, everything simply falls into place.

But the new beginnings I have lived — and the ones I have witnessed in the lives of the beautiful souls I work with — tell a different story. A truer one.

Real new beginnings are brave. They are sometimes uncomfortable. They require us to stand at the edge of what we have known and choose, with intention and courage, to step into what we don't yet fully see.

And that, I believe, is exactly what makes them so powerful.

Over these past months, I have been living my own new beginning. What started as a season of recovery — of physical healing and enforced stillness — became something far greater. It became the space in which I was finally able to ask myself the honest questions I had been too busy to sit with before. About my life. My path. My purpose. About who and what truly belongs in the next chapter of my story.

I did not have all the answers then. I still don't have all of them now. But what I found in that stillness was something more valuable than a perfect plan — I found clarity. And from clarity, the courage to begin again.

New beginnings are not reserved for January or milestone birthdays or moments when everything finally lines up. They are available to us in every season, every month, every ordinary Tuesday when something inside us quietly says: it is time.

June feels like that moment for me. And I wonder if it does for you too.

If you are standing at the threshold of something new — a new direction, a new chapter, a new version of yourself — I want you to hear this clearly: you do not have to have it all figured out to begin. You only need to be willing. Willing to release what no longer serves you. Willing to trust what you feel even when you cannot yet see it. Willing to take one small, honest step forward.

That willingness is the beginning. Everything else grows from there.

Here is what I know about new beginnings, from the inside out: they do not erase what came before. Every experience, every season, every chapter you have lived has shaped the person standing at this threshold. Your past is not a weight — it is a foundation. And new beginnings are not about running from it. They are about building upon it, wiser and more whole than before.

So wherever you are in your journey right now — whether you are deep in a season of rest, tentatively stepping forward, or ready to leap — I want to celebrate you. Because the fact that you are still here, still seeking, still open to what is possible for your life, is itself an act of tremendous courage.

New beginnings are for you. They have always been for you.

You are not too late. You are not too far behind. You are exactly where you are meant to be, and from here — you can begin.

Take the step. Trust the path. Embrace the beautiful, brave power of your new beginning.

Stay strong, Sunflower Tribe. The best is still ahead. 🌻

Renew - Stepping Into the New

There is a kind of courage that doesn't look like strength from the outside. It looks like rest. It looks like slowing down when the world expects you to keep going. It looks like surgery recovery becoming a spiritual retreat you never planned but desperately needed.

That has been my story these past few months.

When I made the decision to step back from Sunflower Intuitive, it was not a decision I made lightly. My body had asked me to pause — firmly, through the experience of surgery and recovery. And while I would not have chosen that path, I can now see it for what it truly was: a gift in disguise.

Over three weeks of healing at home, something extraordinary happened in the ordinary quiet. I recharged. I renewed. And slowly, I began to refocus.

Away from the noise of daily business, away from the expectations others carried for my life, I found myself in a rare and precious space: just me, my thoughts, and the gentle unfolding of truth.

What came forward was clarity I hadn't expected.

I began to notice, with a kind of soft but certain knowing, that not everything and everyone around me was in alignment with who I truly am. Some of this was about people — relationships I had perhaps stayed in longer than my spirit was at ease with. Some of it was about the things and habits that filled my life. I don't say this with bitterness. I say it with the calm that comes from finally being willing to see clearly.

We talk often in spiritual communities about vibration — about resonance. And I believe deeply that when we are truly still, we can feel the difference between what raises us up and what quietly pulls us down. My recovery gave me that stillness. And in that stillness, I could finally feel the difference.

I haven't arrived at every answer. The full picture of where Sunflower Intuitive is going next hasn't fully revealed itself to me yet — and I am learning to be at peace with that unfolding. What I do know is this: I will not return to operating from a place of scattered energy. I will not live by someone else's map of my life.

This is my path. And I intend to walk it with intention.

If any part of my journey speaks to yours — if you too have been in a season of pause, uncertainty, or quiet recalibration — I want you to know something: you are not alone in this. Every single one of us has seasons where the most powerful thing we can do is stop, breathe, and listen inward.

You have more strength than you know. And the path that is right for you will reveal itself when you give yourself the grace to be still.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for your patience, your energy, and your light.

I'm back — and I'm more myself than ever.

Stay strong, Sunflower Tribe. 🌻

With love,

Keri

Prepare A To-Go Bag to Grab Quickly
Prepare A To-Go Bag to Grab Quickly

There’s a difference between living in fear and living prepared.

Preparedness is not panic.

It is empowerment.

When we’ve experienced trauma—fires, storms, unexpected loss—our nervous system remembers. One of the most healing things we can do for ourselves is create systems that restore a sense of safety.

During and after a disaster, we sometimes don’t know what to do. The shock alone can freeze us.

The first fire I experienced, I left with only the clothes on my back, my cell phone, and my car keys.

Three years later, another fire struck. This time, I left carrying my To-Go Bag and two backpacks.

That difference mattered.

Preparation does not remove trauma—but it reduces chaos.

Contact Your Renters Insurance

Whether you have visible damage or not, contact your renters insurance after a disaster. Even if nothing seems wrong.

Having the event documented creates a record—especially important if complications arise later.

It’s a small step that protects you in the long run.

Make a “To-Go” Bag

Disasters move quickly. You may not have time to gather what you need.

Having a bag ready provides something powerful:

peace of mind.

Knowing you can grab one bag and go reduces panic significantly.

🌿 To-Go Bag Ideas

  • Copies of important documentation

  • Clothes (underwear, jeans, shirts, shoes, socks, sweatshirt, pajamas)

  • Hygiene essentials (toothpaste, toothbrush, travel shampoo/conditioner, etc.)

  • Paper and pen (electronics may not work)

  • Phone charger

  • Jacket

  • Winter gear (gloves, hat, scarf)

  • List of medications

  • List of doctors and their numbers

  • Emergency contact list

  • Swiss Army knife

  • Headlamp (I found one for $1 at Walmart in the sporting section)

  • Duct tape

This is simply a starting idea. Customize your bag to your own needs.

Preparing for Extended Power Loss

In early 2026, I lost power for 2.5 days due to an ice storm in our area.

If you plan on staying home during an extended outage, preparation becomes even more important.

Here are a few things that helped:

  • Non-perishable foods

  • Plenty of water

  • Lots of blankets

  • A portable charging station (so you’re not charging your phone in your car in freezing temperatures)

  • Seal windows and doors with blankets or bubble wrap to preserve heat

  • Stay in the warmest interior area of your home

I stayed in my walk-in closet, which was the most insulated area available.

Preparedness isn’t about assuming the worst.

It’s about creating stability so your nervous system can feel safer if something happens again.

When we build safety intentionally, we rebuild confidence.

You are not powerless.

You are capable.

Gentle Closing

This month we’ve talked about trauma, grounding, rebuilding after anxiety, and now preparedness.

Healing isn’t just emotional—it’s practical too.

When we care for both, we strengthen ourselves in ways we don’t always see immediately.

✨ If you are navigating anxiety, trauma, or rebuilding your sense of safety, I continue to offer a complimentary one-card intuitive reading via email.
